Latane Brackett is a native of Norfolk, Virginia. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering at Norfolk State University in 1990 were he was a DNIMAS Scholar. He received his Master of Business Administration at Texas A&M Commerce in 2003. Latane has worked as a corporate engineer, maintenance manager, plant technical manager, plant manager, director of operations, consultant, and vice president of supply chain and operations. He is a results-driven and highly accomplished Supply Chain/Manufacturing Operations Executive with extensive experience developing and implementing strategies that champion industry-leading safety and environmental programs; deliver award-winning quality; develop future leaders; promote top-to-bottom vision alignment; create performance cultures; and drive sustainable productivity. Latane is an innovative problem solver that aligns multiple cross-functional teams around a single vision. Additionally, he communicates and collaborates across diverse organizations to deliver solutions that delight the customer at the lowest total delivered cost. He has a proven track record of building high performance teams. Latane served as the Executive Director of Facilities and Operations for Tennessee State University's Division of Student Affairs. While there he implemented business processes that reduced open housing work orders by 90 percent over two years. He also served as a lead member of the Entrepreneurial Leadership Cohort as part of the HBCU Consortium for Transformative Teaching Practices in 21st Century Career Pathways. In January of 2019, he successfully completed the Price-Babson Symposium for Entrepreneurship Educators. Latane is a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Certified Mediator, a Certified Educational Facilities Professional, an Authorized OSHA Trainer, a Specialist in Safety in Health, an APPA Computerized Interactive Learning Facilitator, and a Certified Adult Instructor for Mental Health First Aid. Latane and his spouse, Tracey, are the parents of three adult children, and the proud grandparents of two boys. He has authored three books: As I See It, Where are all the Leaders?, and Can I Just Tell the Truth?
