UX/UI Designer Yina Smith-Danenhower, Design, Media & Architecture

I am an "archietechie"- an ex-architectural designer turned UX designer, currently located in Boston, MA. I yearn to have a much more significant and direct impact in people’s lives; and I crave for human connections in my day-to-day. I believe UX can give me more of that than architecture. As a UX designer, I aim to impact people’s lives through thoughtful, user-oriented, and beautiful designs. I bring attention to detail, patience and empathy cultivated by working in the architectural design industry. I also bring 7 years of system thinking and complex problem solving in architecture to offer a methodological approach to research and analysis of user needs, and evidence-based interfaces that delight. I believe in Agile methodology and teamwork to design involving researchers, designers, developers, other stakeholders and business executives. To date, I have completed three academic projects and a few non-profit projects. I am constantly working on more projects to gain experience. I can use Adobe XD, Invision, and Sketch well, as well as the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I am looking to apply the same principles in architecture to working and communicating with a team in Healthcare, Government, or any Non-Profit organizations to make the world a better place.
