Here is a bit about myself: I recently graduated from UCLA with a degree in Applied Linguistics. During my time at UCLA, I've worked as a student assistant at the UCLA Alumni Association as well as held a position as the Director of Social Media for the Bruin Linguists Society. In my position as the student assistant of the UCLA Alumni Association, I developed targeted marketing campaigns to advertise career development events to UCLA students and alumni, wrote content for various social media channels, and created graphics used to craft the Alumni Association brand image. In addition to these responsibilities, I have also assisted with a variety of office and event organization tasks such as moderating alumni panels, taking inventory of office supplies, and keeping track of internal databases using tools such as CRM software and Microsoft Excel. As the Director of Social Media for the Bruin Linguists Society, I was responsible for creating marketing materials for every event hosted during the academic year. I would then post these materials to each of our social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, and Slack, as well as forward them to the applicable administrators of the UCLA Linguistics Department to be sent to all students within the undergraduate program. This work resulted in a 500% increase in average event attendance over the year, from an average of 10 event attendees in Fall 2019 to 50 attendees as of Spring 2020. In addition to these responsibilities, I also spearheaded the organization's first ever "Careers in Linguistics: Alumni Panel" in partnership with the UCLA Alumni Association.
