Editor/Designer Media General Editing Center - Hickory, NC December 2010 to April 2011 While crafting front and inside pages for the Hickory Daily Record along with other papers in North Carolina, South Carolina and Alabama, enhanced deadline success by nearly 50 percent for the Hickory Daily Record and 35 percent for papers in South Carolina and Alabama. Sports Editor Wilkes Journal-Patriot - North Wilkesboro, NC May 2004 to December 2010 Helped transform the sports department of one of the state's largest tri-weeklies into a department that frequently won state press association awards. Prior to my arrival, the department experienced a drought where it won two awards in seven years combined. During my tenure, the department earned seven awards.
