Starting back at Fairfield University (CT), my focus in academics and internships heavily revolved around communications. I worked as the Marketing/ Public Relations intern for the resident theatre company. I also served as the Audience Relations/ Special Events intern as well. These roles gave me the opportunity to work with professionals from various academic departments and institutions, and outside vendors, as well as over seeing the day-to-day operations of each event. This position taught me how to work proactively, use and strengthen my communications skills, and adjust to changing dynamics. I was tasked with overseeing the marketing aspects of these events through the formulation of posters and postcards, social media posts, and other interactive digital platforms. This also included internal communications between faculty, staff, students, and guest artists, speakers, and lecturers. These experiences strengthened my computer skills with a vide variety of programs. We utilized everything from Word, Excel, Constant Contact, Apollo, PowerPoint, Photoshop, etc. with the goal of staying organized and on task. Post graduation, I began working for Triboro Youth Theatre, a nonprofit arts organization that works with regional public school students. I was tasked with managing our community outreach through social media and press releases, monitoring our membership base, tracking retention, fostering talkbacks for constructive feedback on what could be done different and where the organization could improve.
