Jessica Thompson
Canada, Vancouver
Writer, Editor, Avid Storyteller Jessica Thompson, Writing & Content
From the point of a young age, Jessica Thompson loved all things writing, sitting her family down to recite a story she proudly wrote from scratch. Now, she brings that love of storytelling and marries it to content production for clients in all sectors, including – but not limited to – international education, securities, landscaping and SaaS companies. As a former award-winning journalist, Jessica has worked in content-related fields for the past five years. Clients rely on her for everything from blog posts to 30-plus page ebooks. She is someone who sits down with a client, listens to what they want communicated and pairs it with what their ideal audience needs to hear. With both of those things, she creates a content marketing strategy. Through her content, clients have the ability to capture leads early in their research and nurture them along in their journey. Jessica’s communications career began at Carleton University’s School of Journalism. She worked as an intern for both Global News BC, CTV BC and BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, wrote for the school’s athletic department during and received a job as a reporter for a newspaper in London, ON, when she graduated. During her first day, she was promoted to editor of a 26-person team, an opportunity that was both intimidating and exhilarating. After moving back to her hometown of North Vancouver, she worked in communications at the BC Securities Commission. Then, she moved into the marketing field, working as a lead content writer and senior editor for IMPACT Marketing International. She’s also found her passion for freelancing, working on various projects with companies such as SharpSpring, the North Shore News and the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. Her work has brought hundreds of thousands of views to websites, created thousands of new leads for clients and even won awards. Jessica is hardworking, organized, determined and guarantees to meet every deadline put before her. When not writing, you can catch her excitedly planning her wedding, trying to master the art of running or playing a game of floor hockey. She is beyond excited to dive into research, create some content and make your life a little easier.
