I currently work as a corporate marketer and I am responsible for the overall management of corporate brands for the company. A large part of my role is to develop, execute and oversee digital and content strategies. Here is a brief summary of my current responsibilities and past experience: 1. With the world making an intense shift towards digital transformation, my current role has expanded into developing and executing digital strategies to ensure branding and positioning of the brand is concurrent to organisational goals and catering to the right audience online. 2. Relevant content is not very useful if it is not used in conjunction with search engine optimisation and management, making it a vital part of my current role. 3. One of my main KPIs was to increase engagement and followers without any paid promotion during the pandemic for one of the company’s corporate brands. Within a span of four months, I was able to single-handedly take engagement rate to about 5% and gain close to 4000 followers. For another similar brand which is very new in the market, I was able to increase engagement rate to 7.5%. All this was possible because of a thorough content strategy and targeted marketing as part of the digital marketing plan. 4. A vital part of my current role is to ensure I coordinate with top stakeholders of the company so as to plan and execute marketing campaigns in line with organisational goals. Being an MNC, I also coordinate with our global counterparts on standardising our marketing strategies across the world. This entails following and developing an editorial calendar, keeping digital strategies in line with it, regionalising content and measuring the success of it all. Some common metrics used are lead generation through social channels and websites, client specific campaign results and sales conversions. 5. I am also responsible for handling the overall public relations, sometimes in collaboration with an external agency and otherwise developing an independent relation network.
