JOB SUMMARY: Sangamo Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated Temporary Research Associate with hands-on experience in molecular and Next-Generation Sequencing assays to support Sangamo therapeutic programs under supervision. The successful candidate will be involved in development, optimization, and qualification of molecular assays for rAAV gene therapy and cell therapy products. The position requires troubleshooting skills along with adaptability to work under supervision as well as independent. The ideal candidate will have a fundamental understanding of developing analytical methods that are used for characterization of manufacturing of AAV vector. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develop, optimize, and qualify molecular biology methods, including molecular cloning, nucleic acid purification, RT-qPCR and ddPCR assays. Perform various NGS sequencing assays including WGS, Amplicon-Seq, and RNA-Seq library synthesis methods. Operate Next Generation Sequencing Instruments such as Illumina or PacBio Sequel. Familiarity with mammalian cell culture and viral infection is a plus. Demonstrate ability to overcome technical challenges in a fast-paced environment. Train and transfer the methods to internal sample testing group. Plan, execute, and document laboratory procedures and experiments with great attention to detail. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: Minimal BS in a Molecular Biology or related disciplines with minimum 1 year of industrial experience.
