3.9| ||Contract|9 hours ago| Full Job Description Desktop Field Service Technician Contract to Hire US Citizenship Required Fort Wayne Indiana Pre Tax W2 hourly contract rate: $21 to $26 per hour DOE Salary offered at time of conversion based on performance and skill level observed during contract We need a Desktop Field Service Technician to support our computer users with installation of hardware/software and networking components to meet personal computer needs. Specific tasks will include: Win 7 upgrades and deployment of new replacement machines. Diagnoses and troubleshooting problems with individual or multiple computer systems in order to maintain proper functioning; resolves issues including contacting and assisting vendors. Conducting diagnostic reviews and producing error reports as requested by customers in order to identify and correct any problems. Assisting with computer studies, projects, and implementation of policies throughout area of assignment. Assisting in the design and development of standardized operational management reports in order to identify issues or monitor computers. Research, analysis, and providing hardware/software recommendations, ordering information, and other purchasing information to users to assist in purchasing necessary equipment. Diagnoses and resolving moderate end-user hardware/software problems including remote access software. Performing new computer configuration and coordinates the workstation upgrade/replacement process. Participating in the deployment of new software platforms. Tracking user requests for equipment, for information, and problem reporting by opening cases and keeping case histories current and complete. Verifying with the customer that the problem has been resolved and closing out the case. Required Skills and Experience US Citizenship is required for this defense related role 4 years experience as a Desktop Technician with HS Diploma, or 2 years of experience with an AA Degree Working knowledge of computer hardware, software, and terminology. Experience with the installation of hardware/software and networking components BASIC problem solving skills. Diagnostic Experience Must have good communication and organizational skills.
